I had a picture-perfect day in Albuquerque and almost every place looked inviting. I'll have to go back.

Thanks for reading and for your comments Soumyendu! One Day in Americahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06908834658716123640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4975306347330050350.post-59117381507962918772013-07-19T10:47:00.371-07:002013-07-19T10:47:00.371-07:00Lovely pictures Rita and especially that of the ea...Lovely pictures Rita and especially that of the eatery with dried chillies hanging outside, can almost picture myself walking in :)Soumyenduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02586465804913627495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4975306347330050350.post-45667768013997097052013-07-19T05:45:21.121-07:002013-07-19T05:45:21.121-07:00Hi Vickie,

Kind of puts everything into perspective.

As always, I appreciate your comments! One Day in Americahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06908834658716123640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4975306347330050350.post-76456840587845144022013-07-18T19:11:55.203-07:002013-07-18T19:11:55.203-07:00100-mile views sound spectacular and well worth a ...100-mile views sound spectacular and well worth a scary tram ride. Plus, the silhouette of the paraglider - stunning.

I've only been to Albuquerque for a one-day conference (and then headed to Santa Fe). I guess I assumed it was mainly city, but it seems like the neighborhoods give it a small-town feel with fabulous dining opportunities.

Like John, I'm not much of a spicy-food consumer, but I love looking at the hanging chilies. They're so festive, any time of the year!

So glad you had beautiful weather for your quick journey south.Vickie Bateshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04935525489196514927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4975306347330050350.post-12777380812725302132013-07-18T13:13:46.909-07:002013-07-18T13:13:46.909-07:00Hi Rita,

What type of research were you doing?
I'm also sorry that you wouldn't be able to enjoy the spicy food. Albuquerque restaurants served the best red and green salsa I've had in the southwest!
Thanks for the comment about the tram car's shadow. As we slid down the cable I happened to look back and see the shadow. I quickly pulled out my camera and snapped the picture before the shadow disappeared into the trees. I'm glad I did!

Thanks again for reading and commenting! One Day in Americahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06908834658716123640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4975306347330050350.post-1090381471700661412013-07-17T08:58:39.579-07:002013-07-17T08:58:39.579-07:00Hi Rita,

Many years ago I was a junior member of a research team that visited locations across the country. Albuquerque was a prized location that was reserved for only the senior members of the team. By the time I became a senior member, Albuquerque was no longer on the list. Oh well! :-)

Without question, I would enjoy the scenery and natural wonders of this area. Unfortunately for me, the cuisine would probably disagree with my super-sensitive GI system which has become intolerant of spicy foods.

And WOW! That is such a terrific photo showing the tram car's shadow on the mountainside. It really does a great job of putting everything into perspective.

John
1HappyHikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02242409292439585691noreply@blogger.com
